Yuma Flights Guide
Yuma, Arizona was once a land of natives whose descendants now occupy nearby reservations. After its stint as a rough Wild West town, Yuma developed as a ferry terminal and train stop along the Colorado River. Today it is a city whose economy is based on the military and border patrol bases.
The attraction of Yuma is its historical downtown, and specifically the Yuma Territorial Prison, which provides an interesting insight into the state’s first prison. Though the military base is a no-go, the Yuma Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park is the old army supply depot, and its buildings are filled with items of age and fascinating exhibits.
The Yuma International Airport is where the Marine Corps base is located. Flights arrive here from Phoenix and LA about United and US Airways planes.
