Milan Flights Guide

Milan is the capital of the Italian state of Lombardy, and also the 2nd-largest city in the country. It’s an ancient city with a rich and varied past, and offers hundreds of museums, galleries, ancient ruins, historic buildings and much more. Milan is home to the famous Milan Cathedral, Sforza Castle, and the world’s oldest shopping mall, the Galleria Vittorio Emmanuele II. More top attractions in this cultural city include the Arc of Peace in Sempione Park (this 25m tall landmark is a beautiful example of Italian architecture), the Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan’s foremost art gallery, the Pinacoteca del Castello Sforzesco, which houses works by Michelangelo. The Archeological Museum of Milan features thousands of pieces of art from the Ancient Egyptians, ancient Milan, art by Gandhara, Early Middle Ages, Etruscan pieces, and Ancient Greece. Also check out the Art Deco Villa Necchi Campiglio, a gallery and museum built in 1935 that offers much more than just art; it also has a swimming pool, garden that surrounds the property, and a small restaurant that is excellent for brunch. Shopping and dining in Milan is some of the best in the world; Milan boasts thousands of restaurants that offer authentic Italian cuisine, fusion dishes, and more. For breakfast or brunch, try Antica Gelateria del Corso (visit on a Sunday for weekend brunch buffet), or for a divine lunch experience, go to Je Suis Jambon and opt for a traditional piadina sandwich. For a four-star dinner, check out Ribot and enjoy their dinner buffet or try the risotto; another great dinner option is Cracco, which offers delicious Italian cuisine like lamb Milanese. For shopping in Milan, visit Galleria Carla Sozzani (this mall has lots of boutiques for clothing, jewelry, etc.), Rinascente (which is the most exclusive center in Milan), or Upim which is a large department store offering home accessories and clothing. Getting around Milan is very easy, and transportation methods include a large, extensive railway system, underground rapid transit, city tram, and three airports: Malpensa International Airport, Orio al Serio Airport, and Milano Bresso.
