La Paz Flights Guide
The Baja Peninsula, which runs south paralleling the Mexican mainland, terminates at the southern tip where Cabo San Lucas welcomes party-goers, especially during US Spring Break. Just a bit north is the state’s capital, La Paz, a city which is not to be overlooked.
La Paz is not as hectic as Cabo or San Jose to the south, but instead promotes a more authentic Mexican scene that speaks to the national character. La Paz sits in a wide set of bays on the coast of the Sea of Cortez. Ferries bring travelers across to Mazatlan, but before they go they enjoy such sites as La Paz’s pristine El Playa Tesoro beach, which is uncorrupted by the heavy tourist flow concentrated in the south. From La Paz, whale-watching tours head out into the sea to observe the migrating gray whales in Magdalena Bay. Other tours motor out to the natural islets and uninhabited islands in the city’s own bay.
La Paz is served by airlines including Interjet, Volaris, Aereo Calafia, Aeromexico and VivaAerobus. Many visitors combine their time in La Paz with visits to Cabo San Lucas, and flying into Los Cabos International might prove to be the more affordable option.
