Gulfport Biloxi Flights Guide
Situated along Mississippi’s coast at the Gulf of Mexico, Gulfport and Biloxi occupy an area that was ravaged when Hurricane Katrina hit. Today, they are coming back to life, and regaining their draw as vacation getaways and historical destinations.
Gulfport and Biloxi are essentially connected, the former being the larger of the two. Their beaches along the Gulf of Mexico are bright white under the sun, and their casinos have been the main draw for a tourist base that traditionally came from New Orleans and the state capital of Jackson. In Gulfport, the Island View Casino Resort is one of the largest. People come also for the golfing opportunities. The Ship Island Ferry takes visitors out to Ship Island from Gulfport, whose beach the locals boast is one of the best in the country. Catching a bite to eat in town at one of the seafood restaurants is the best way to pay homage to the city’s reputation as a seafood magnet. Over in Biloxi, one of the main historical attractions is Jefferson Davis’ house, who was the president of the defeated Confederacy during the Civil War.
The Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport welcomes travelers who arrive on one of several airlines: Delta, United, Vision Airlines, US Airways and American Eagle.
