Fes Flights Guide
Morocco’s most gorgeous city has kept its history preserved in one of the world’s largest pedestrian-free areas. Many blocks of architectural jewels crowd Fez’s two medinas, hinting at influences that range from the Idrisid Dynasty to Moorish, Ottoman, Spanish and French styles.
Anyone will recognize the leather-dyeing pits, a colorful mélange of concrete reservoirs for dyeing textiles. Islamic architecture permeates all around the city, and the best place to observe it is at the Bou Inania Madersa, which is a religious university that has existed since its establishment in the 14th century. A number of places non-Muslims can see from outside are the al-Tijani Mosque, the Moulay Idriss II Shrine and the Qaraouyine library. Fez is home to two medinas, the old Kazbahs of the city. The bigger one is Fes el-Bali. Only the smallest vehicles can wind through its rounding alleyways. It’s easy to get lost, but that might be the best course of action. The medinas are full of the commotion of market scenes, and there is everything from Tagine cooking pots to hookahs (shisha) for sale. None should leave without visiting the longest-functioning university on the planet, the University of al-Karaouine.
Fes-Saiss Airport is served by Ryanair, Royal Air Maroc, EasyJet, Corendon Dutch Airlines, Vueling and Royal Air Maroc.
