Chicago Flights Guide
With a population of around 2.7 million people, Chicago is the third most populated city in the US. It is home to cultural and industrial icons, historic landmarks, and dozens of tourist attractions like the iconic Lincoln Park, the Museum of Science and Industry, and the Garfield Park Conservatory that houses the biggest collection of tropical plants in the US.
Chicago also has the largest concentration of art galleries (other than New York City), all of them resting in the neighborhood of River North, so don’t forget to check out this part of the city if you’re an art lover. Chicago’s many museums include the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Contemporary Art, Adler Planetarium, and the Chicago History Museum. Also, take time to visit some of Chicago’s most famous tourist attractions, the historic Chicago Cultural Center, the Navy Pier (which is the number one attraction for tourists coming to Chicago), and the majestic Chicago Water Tower.
World-class shopping is another of Chicago’s main attractions, as the dozens of upscale shops, boutiques, antique stores and other retailers along the famous Magnificent Mile draws millions of tourists each year. Sometimes called “The Mag Mile” by native Chicago residents, this section of Michigan Avenue is home to upscale retailers like Bloomingdale’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barneys New York, and luxury hotels such as the 4-star Park Hyatt, the opulent Westin and the Drake Hotel.
After a long shopping spree, check out some of Chicago’s best dining venue, including the exclusive The Signature Room at the 95th, The Park Hyatt Room, the famed Spiaggi restaurant and Spago, another of Chicago’s most posh and expensive restaurants located along the Magnificent Mile.
Getting around Chicago is pretty easy, as there are plenty of modes of transportation to choose from, including several transit systems, numerous main expressways, Greyhound bus lines, Amtrak, and the Chicago O’Hare International Airport, which is the fourth busiest airport in the world.
