Bandung Flights Guide
Indonesia’s third largest city might not look like Paris anymore, but it still boasts buildings that recall its glamorous past under Dutch colonial rule. Today the city is a great place to enjoy the gastronomic delights of the country.
In the old town, the architectural designs of the colonial era are still well-preserved. The new city is a modern metropolis that is growing exponentially, and some fear the old town haunts will eventually be razed. One of the city landmark Dutch buildings is the Savoy Homann Hotel, which is an example of art deco. The Villa Isola is outside of old town but notable for being one of local architectural legend Schoemaker’s designs. Back in the old town there are still the ITB West and East Hall, Schoemaker’s Cipaganti Mosque and the Gedung Sate building. One can combine a visit of an art deco building with that of its occupant, the Geological Museum, where Indonesia’s unique circumstances are explored. Bundang is located near to some geological marvels of its own, including the Mount Tangkuban Perahu crater, the Sari Ater hot springs and Kawah Putih crater.
Husein Sastranegara International Airport defines a schedule of mostly domestic and regional flights. Carriers include but are not limited to SilkAir, Tigerair, Indonesia AirAsia, Lion Air and AirAsia.
