Why fly to Puerto Vallarta?
Bejeweled waters, quirky palm trees and miles of soft beach make Puerto Vallarta one of the best places to get away from it all.
Puerto Vallarta was once a quaint old Mexican fishing village and some of that charm still resides in the small streets and old houses. However, today huge resorts, golf courses and major attractions have made it into the ultimate destination for vacationers.
The resorts offer the best there is to have of the island with restaurants, bars, spa, massage and a host of other amenities. Of course relaxing on a lounger, sipping a fruity drink is on the top of most vacationers lists and there are all sorts of libations and relaxing to be had.
However, when you're ready to get that adrenalin pumping there is a ton to see and do. You can go ATV'ing in the rainforest, swim with dolphins or rappelling down the mountains. The area waters are popular for snorkeling and diving as well as for jet skiing.
Tours can get you out para-sailing or skydiving and if you want more of a calmer adventure than how about a ride through the forests on a mule. It certainly isn't skydiving but when will you ever do that again.
The city proper is quaint and lovely. The historic downtown district is where you will find lovely old architecture and shops selling anything from turquoise jewellery and beads to bikinis to art. Stroll through the parks and make a visit to the botanical gardens where you will find an amazing display of orchids.
There are several churches in the city with the Church of our Lady of Guadelupe featuring prominently on the Puerto Vallarta skyline. It is definitely worth at least an hour of your time to take in the beautiful architecture and enjoy another dimension of Puerto Vallarta. The city is also home to several art galleries and museums as well as the new Teatro Vallarta, which puts on some prime performances.
Puerto Vallarta is a dream beach vacation. The weather is hot, the people uber friendkly and the landscape unforgettable.
Puerto Vallarta Weather
Puerto Vallarta is a hot destination. Temperatures in the city rarely fall below 20 and in the summer months they are in the mid 30s. The summer months also bring a large amount of rainfall and combined with the high temperatures the humidity levels are quite high. The winter season isn't quite as hot, but the temperatures are still warm enough to hit the beaches with numbers generally in the 20s.
When to fly to Puerto Vallarta
As a super sun destination, Puerto Vallarta is quite popular year-round. However, the winter months are particularly known for high tourist numbers as residents of colder countries flock to the city to come in out of the cold. Flight ticket prices to Puerto Vallarta are on the high side during the winter months.
Summer's rain and resulting humidity results in lower tourist numbers in Puerto Vallarta. The tourist slump means flight ticket prices also take a nosedive which makes it the perfect time to scoop up some deals. If you book your flight in the very beginning of summer you can avoid the rainiest period.
