TAM Flights

TAM Brazilian Airlines History

TAM is Brazilís largest airline but it is not the flag carrier. In 2012 the airline merged with LAN and created what is now not only the largest in Brazil, but the largest on the South American continent.
TAM was founded in 1976 and now operates some 161 planes to 62 destinations. Its main hubs are in the two largest cities in Brazil, Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Brasilia is another major international hub, and many other cities receive heavy traffic from TAMís fleet.

Why fly TAM Brazilian Airlines?

TAMís merger with LAN brought about a number of changes. In 2014, for example, the airline will be joining not one but two Alliances, which means that passengers aboard TAM planes will have incredible wiggle room when it comes to perks. TAM Brazilian Airlines will be joining the Star Alliance and Oneworld alliance.
The airline also has a frequent flyer program, called TAM Fidelidade. It functions on the same premises as other programs of its kind. Passengers fly on TAM planes, and the miles they accumulate depend on distance flown, price of ticket and seat class. The miles can be redeemed for free tickets and upgrades. The tiers of membership are White, Blue, Red and Black.

TAM Brazilian Airlines Flight Destinations

TAM Brazilian Airlines flies to many countries in the world. Its main focus is on Brazilian national airports, but TAM Brazilian Airlines flies all over South America as well. The group has destinations in North America and Europe. Through a number of codeshare agreements, passengers can fly aboard Aeromexico, LAN, Lufthansa and Deutsche Bahn airplanes in order to arrive to additional destinations. Other airlines with agreements include Air China, All Nippon Airways, TAP Portugal, United Airlines, Air Canada and American Airlines. Once the company joins the alliances, many more opportunities for travel will arise.
