Korean Air was founded in 1946 and began service under its current name in 1962. The airline is one of the top-rated airlines in the world, and also one of the largest. Most of its flights serve international destinations. Korean Air flies to many destinations throughout the world. The furthest they fly include countries like Brazil, the United States, Canada and Kenya. They fly to Europe as well, serving Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, the UK, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Austria, the Czech Republic and Turkey. Flights arrive to Israel, Russia, central Asia, India, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia and China. They are one of only a few airlines to fly to all six continents.
Through its subsidiary, Jin Air, and likewise through the SkyTeam alliance carriers, Korean Air passengers can arrive to many more destinations. Additional carriers that have codeshare agreements with Korean Air include Myanmar Airways, Hainan Airlines, WestJet, Philippine Airlines, Aircalin, Alaska Airlines, Emirates, Malaysia Airlines, Japan Airlines, Uzbekistan Airways, Rossiya Airlines and others.

On Board Korean Air

Korean Air prides itself also on its economy class seating. These seats can recline to a full 121 degrees. The flight attendants are very friendly, helpful and professional. On all international flights there are attendants who speak English. The seats are especially comfortable as they are newly designed to better take the movement of the aircraft. Economy has the AVOD system installed on personal screens, and there are even electrical jacks that one can use for their laptops. Food is complimentary, as are drinks, with various selections depending on the destination.

Business Class Flights

Prestige Class is the standard business class that is offered aboard Korean Air flights. These pod seats offer ample privacy, and can be fully converted into flatbed seats. The adjustable light is powerful and handy, while the mid-seat divider allows for utmost privacy. Those flying Prestige Class have the special perks of being able to access lounges and priority check-in booths. Onboard, one has advanced meal options that offer the best food with an inexhaustible list of drink offerings. The in-flight entertainment system comes packed with thousands of songs, hundreds of movies to choose from, and miscellaneous offerings such as games, travel guides, newspapers and more. All Prestige Class passengers are given priority attention with a dedicated flight crew. One receives complimentary offerings such as amenity kit and various items to make the flight all the more comfortable. The Prestige Class has been consistently ranked among the best business class offerings in the world.
Besides Economy and Prestige Class, there is First Class. There are a number of suites depending on the flight, but all come with the same personalized service. Advanced headphones are offered for better enjoyment of the in-flight movies and music. There is ample room for doing work or stretching out on the fully-convertible seat-bed. First Class comes with additional perks, from double flight mile earnings to an exclusive check-in, more luggage allowance, arrival showers and priority service on all levels.

Korean Air Lounges

Korean Air operates a network of lounges called the KAL lounges. These lounges are accessible by First and Prestige Class passengers, and advanced members of the rewards program. The very highest members can introduce into the lounge a second person. Lounges come packed with services and facilities. One can expect to find Wi-Fi internet, showers, a dedicate area for sleeping, snacks and drinks, television, current newspapers, phone access free of charge and more. The lounges are located all over the world, and where they are not, some passengers can gain access to the SkyTeam lounges, of which there are hundreds.
