KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is based at Schipol Airport in Amsterdam and is a member of the SkyTeam alliance of airlines. It is part of the Air France-KLM group.
Passengers wishing to book KLM flights online from the United States are directed to the Northwest airlines website. Northwest airlines have a partnership with KLM to fly from the United States to Amsterdam, with onward flights available on KLM aircraft to Europe and beyond. The gateway cities in the US include Memphis, Detroit and Minneapolis.
Complimentary meals and inflight entertainment in all classes are available on the Northwest flights to Amsterdam. Snacks are available to purchase on internal American Northwest flights. On KLM flights within Europe, Europe Select and Economy Class cabins are available. A snack service is available within Economy class.
Flying Blue is the frequent flyer program run by KLM in conjunction with Air France. Membership levels are Ivory, Silver, Gold and Platinum. All levels are considered to be Elite membership levels except Ivory. Elite membership benefits include an extra baggage allowance and lounge access, while all membership levels are eligible for free flights and upgrades.
