Brussels Airlines History
Brussels Airlines came about when two airlines merged, one of which was the Virgin Atlantic subsidiary Virgin Express. Now, Brussels Airlines is the flag carrier of Belgium, despite being a subsidiary company of the German carrier Lufthansa.
The airline has 45 planes that fly to some 66 destinations. It is a member of the Star Alliance through its parent company Lufthansa, opening up the doors of additional benefits for its passengers who continue about those partner airlines. Its hub is in Brussels.

They also have routes to Russia and Israel.
Brussels Airlines has many codeshare agreements, including but not limited to Croatia Airlines, United Airlines, Aegean Airlines, Air Canada, RwandAir, TAP Portugal, Ethiopian Airlines, Jet Airways, Hainan Airlines, Senegal Airlines, TAROM and others. The Star Alliance provides additional options for onward travel.
On Board Brussels Airlines
Brussels Airlines has economy class and business class on all flights. The short haul planes have different configurations and services than long-haul. One can purchase a “light” economy ticket, which offers a standard seat with in-flight seat back television screens, or a “flex” economy plus seat, which offers a bit more space and ground perks. The seats in standard economy have more legroom than traditional configurations. There are meals on offer in addition to snacks and drinks, all of which is complimentary. The touch-screen entertainment systems are also above-average, with 8 inches on the diagonal.
Business Class Flights
Business Class is offered on all flights as well, and differs depending on the route and aircraft configuration. These seats are greater amplified, with additional legroom, recline and hip space. Each passenger in Business Class receives a hot towel, fully-catered meals and a selection of top-quality wines to accompany each. Long-haul flights have a Business Class with fully reclining flatbed seats.

Brussels Airlines offers a number of lounges for its passengers. These lounges are located at the hub airport terminals in Brussels. They have been rated among the best in the world, and not least of all because of the traditional Belgian beer offerings. Business Class and high-tiered members of the rewards program are granted access.
