All Nippon Airways Flight Guide
All Nippon Airways History
In the years following the total destruction wrought during WWII, Japan and the US embarked on massive projects to rebuild the country. Tokyo is today the largest city in the world, and home to one of the top 5-star airlines in the world, All Nippon Airways.
All Nippon Airways has two principle hubs, one being Narita International Airport in Tokyo, and the other is Kansai International Airport in Osaka. However, All Nippon Airways also operates out of Haneda in Tokyo and Osaka International Airport.
As of 2013, the company has some 189 planes that fly to 73 destinations around the world. Together with subsidiaries and codeshares, loyal passengers of All Nippon Airways have a much broader choice of destinations. The 5-star rating comes from the group Skytrax, which takes into account the very details of an airlines’ service in order to make a confident judgment of the quality.
Why fly All Nippon Airways?
If 5-star service is not enough, then there are a few things that would otherwise appear convincing. All Nippon Airways has some of the best service in the world, with spacious seats and attentive staff that see to one’s every need. The airline operates flights to many international destinations, and so joining its loyalty program is a sure way to build credit in order to fly more for less.
The loyalty program is called ANA Mileage Club. This Mileage Club runs parallel with the best frequent flyer programs that the Star Alliance, of which All Nippon Airways is a member, has to offer. Passengers can join free of charge in order to gain miles. These miles can then be redeemed for free tickets, hotel reservations, car rentals, discounts on shopping, upgrading seats and more. Miles are awarded based on an algorithm that calculates factors including ticket price, seat option and distance flown. The more expensive the ticket, and the longer the voyage, then the more miles gained, which eventually offset costs.
All Nippon Airways Flight Destinations
All Nippon Airways is one of the best airlines to fly domestic, because all the major cities are served. All Nippon Airways is a carrier that caters to business travelers. Routes generally reflect the business tendencies of the country, providing flights to many places throughout China, the US and Western Europe. Southeast Asia is also well served. Some of the countries that receive All Nippon Airways aircraft are India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, South Korea, England, France, Germany, Hong Kong, and many large metropolises in the United States.
Through the airline’s subsidiaries, which include ANA Wings, Air Japan and Peach, passengers can arrive to many smaller airports in the region and beyond. The airline also shares its hub terminal with Star Alliance members, and through those partnerships, clients of All Nippon Airways can book a dual-airline ticket. Likewise, All Nippon Airways codeshare agreements allow such travel. These agreements are held with TAM Airlines, Air Do, South African Airways, Air Canada, EVA Air, Asiana Airlines, LOT Polish, Lufthansa, United Airlines, TAP Portugal, Qatar Airways, Austrian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, US Airways and many more.
On Board All Nippon Airways
Cabin classes aboard All Nippon Airways aircraft are divided into four categories: First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy. Economy class is among the reasons why All Nippon Airways have been named a 5-star airline. These seats are much more comfortable than the average economy seating available nowadays. The adjustable head pillow is an especially nice touch, and the seats recline to a greater degree than most other economy seats in the world. Each seat has a dedicated personal entertainment system with a selection of movies, TV programs and music to choose from. Economy Premium has even larger seats, and the already comprehensive selection of meals in the regular economy is accentuated in Economy Premium. In addition, all flights offer duty-free shopping options throughout the journey, so that passengers can take advantage of special sky-only deals.
Business Class Flights
The Business Class aboard All Nippon Airways is one of the best in show. Some aircraft have basic Business seats installed, but since All Nippon Airways is one of the first companies to accept delivery of brand new Boeing Dreamliner aircraft, they will soon phase out older seating options and replace them with the much more private, cordoned seats now in production.
Depending on the flight destination, there are a number of different meals to choose from aboard an All Nippon Airways flight. From French to Japanese, elaborate deserts to perfectly-mixed spirits, the selection of consumables on offer is startling.
Each Business Class passenger is given an amenities kit on arrival to their seat. Duty-free shopping is available, as is a wealth of entertainment options. The personal entertainment system sports a large-screen TV with movies that run on advanced AVOD tech, allowing passengers to pick and choose to their delight. The complimentary noise-cancelling headphones are an especially nice offering, as is the portable media player.
All Nippon Airways Lounges
Business Class passengers and those rewards program members of the higher tiers have special access to ANA Lounges. These lounges contribute to the 5-star rating of the airline by providing clients with not only the standard seating, tables, food and TV, but also showers and massage chairs as well. ANA Lounges exist at most of the major international airports that the airline serves. Where they don’t exist, All Nippon Airways customers have exclusive access also to Star Alliance partner lounges.
The website can be found at www.ana.co.jp. All the information on the airline in several languages is available, including comprehensive guides to different kinds of seating options depending on the type of aircraft.
