Vancouver Airport Guide (YVR)

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is located about 8 miles from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Based on passenger traffic, YVR is the 2nd busiest airport in Canada. The Vancouver International Airport was found in the later 1920s, and was used by the Royal Canadian Air Force throughout World War II.

Transfer between Terminals

Vancouver International Airport has three terminals: The International Terminal, the Domestic Terminal, and the South Terminal. The South Terminal is connected to the main building by a shuttle. The main terminal building is accessible by foot and moving walkways.

Transport into Town

Rail: Both the International and Domestic Terminals are served by the Canada Line Railway, part of  Metro Vancouver's SkyTrain rapid transit network. Bus: The N10 night bus connects the airport to Richmond and downtown Vancouver. The South Terminal is served by the C92 bus, which connects to the Canada Line at Bridgeport Station. Taxi: Taxis are available at each terminal, and cost approximately $35 to travel to downtown Vancouver.

Airport Lounges

Plaza Premium has three lounges located in Domestic Departures, Airside, Level 3, near Gate A2; International Departures, Airside, Level 3; and USA Departures, Airside, Level 3. Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounges are located in Domestic Departures, Airside, open from 4:45am - 11:30pm; USA Departures, Airside, open from 5:30am - 10:30pm; and International Departures, Airside, open from 9am- 2am.

Vancouver International Airport is a hub for Air Canada and a focus city for WestJet. YVR is also an operating base for Air Transat.

Airport Facilities

Vancouver International Airport showcases a vast collection of Aboriginal art, including wooden sculptures and totem poles. Wireless internet is available in the airport. A large aquarium in the International Terminal is home to 850 indigenous fish.

Car Parking

Vancouver International Airport offers four different parking options. Parkade offers the closest parking spots to the terminal and costs $4 for 30 minutes up to $30 daily. Economy Parking is within walking distance of the terminal and costs $4 for 30 minutes up to $22 daily. JetSet Parking is connected to the terminal via a free shuttle. Valet parking is located at the terminal door and costs $38 a day.
