Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL) is located 5 miles northwest of Berlin, Germany. The airport was informally founded in 1906, and was used extensively throughout World War I and World War II. The airport is scheduled to be closed when the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport opens in approximately 2015.

Tegel airport consists of five terminals, all located inside the same building. Tegel Airport’s main building is built in the shape of a hexagon with an open courtyard at its center. Information on shuttle connections between terminals is unavailable, but terminals are accessible by foot.
