Overview


Portland International Airport (PDX) is located 12 miles northeast of downtown Portland. Travel+Leisure magazine named PDX the best US airport in 2013. Portland's aviation history began in 1927 when the Swan Island Airport was dedicated by aviation pioneer Charles Lindbergh. In 1935, an airport was built on the present-day PDX site, and the first international flight departed Portland en route to Vancouver in 1967.

Transfer between Terminals


Portland airport has one terminal building divided into five concourses, Concourse A, Concourse B, Concourse C, Concourse D, and Concourse E. Walkways connect various points of the terminal building. The terminal building is also accessible on foot.

Transport into Town


Rail: TriMetís MAX Light Rail service stops at the airport and connects travelers to Portland and surrounding areas. Other: Taxis and shuttles are also available at PDX.

Airport Lounges


There are three special lounges inside the Portland International Airport. United Club is located in Concourse E, across from Gate E1 and is open 5am - 7pm. Delta Sky Club is located in Concourse D. Alaska Airlines Board Room is located in Concourse C, Airside, Gate C5, and is open 5am - 9pm.

Major Airlines


Portland International Airport is a hub for SkyWest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Horizon Air. Alaska Airlines accounts for a majority of PDXís market. SeaPort Airlines, a small regional carrier, †is headquartered in PDX.

Airport Facilities


PDX features a tax-free shopping mall and a small selection of 24-hour dining options. Wireless internet is available throughout the terminal.

Car Parking


Short-Term Parking features covered parking and costs $3 an hour and $24 a day. Long-Term Parking features covered parking spots and costs $18 a day. Economy Parking is connected to the terminal via a free shuttle which runs every 7-9 minutes. Economy Parking costs $10 a day. Valet Parking is located in the outer lane of the upper, ticketing/departures level. Valet Parking costs $10 an hour and $30 a day.
