Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) is a joint civil-military public use airport 10 miles from both downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul. It is the largest airport in a six-state region, and is the 17th busiest airport in the United States based on passenger traffic. The airport was originally founded in the 1920s, and was called Speedyway Field and then Wold-Chamberlain Field after two World War I pilots.
Transfer between Terminals
Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport has two terminals: The Lindbergh-Terminal 1 and the smaller Humphrey-Terminal 2. Lindbergh-Terminal 1 officially has seven concourses, lettered A–G, with the Humphrey-Terminal 2 labeled as Concourse H. Two People Movers operate in the airport, moving passengers from Lindbergh-Terminal 1 to the Hub Building, and another tram runs along Concourse C. Passengers can also use the METRO Light Rail system to connect between Lindbergh-Terminal 1 and Humphrey-Terminal 2.

Transport into Town
Rail: The METRO Light Rail’s Blue Line stops at both Terminal 1 (Lindbergh Station) and Terminal 2-Humphrey (Humphrey Station). The Blue Line connects travelers to downtown Minneapolis and the Mall of America in nearby Bloomington. Bus: City bus Route 54 picks up and drops off outside the Terminal 1-Lindbergh Transit Center, on Level 1 of the Blue and Red parking ramps. Taxi: Taxis are available at both terminals. A taxi ride to downtown Minneapolis costs approximately $39-$49, and downtown St. Paul costs approximately $31-$38.
Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport has three airline lounges which are all located in the Terminal 1-Lindbergh. Delta Air Lines Sky Club has two lounges located in the Airport Mall and in Concourse C. United Airlines United Club is located in Concourse E.
MSP is the 3rd largest hub for Delta Air Lines, Compass Airlines, and Pinnacle Airlines. Delta Air Lines transports more than 80% of the airport’s passengers. MSP also serves as the home airport for Sun Country Airlines.
The Mall of America is a 12-minute Light Rail ride from the airport. Terminal 1 has a 1.4 mile walking path, there are many shopping and dining options, and spa services can also be located in the airport.
MSP Value Parking costs $14-$16 a day. The multi-level MSP Value Parking facility connects to Terminal 2-Humphrey via skyway and to Terminal 1-Lindbergh via light rail. General Parking at Terminal 1-Lindbergh is available in four different parking ramps. The Green and Gold General parking ramps are connected to the terminal via enclosed skyways on Level 3. The Red and Blue ramps are connected to the terminal via a tram from Level T to the terminal. Rates at these ramps cost between $6 and $22. Short Term facilities are connected to the terminals via the Tram Level at Terminal 1-Lindbergh and via a skyway at Terminal 2-Humphrey. Parking rates in Short-Term parking cost between $3 to $36. Valet Parking is only available at Terminal 1-Lindbergh and costs $40 for 24 hours.
