Memphis International Airport (MEM) is a joint civil and military airport which is located 7 miles southeast of downtown Memphis, Tennessee. The current airport terminal opened in 1963.  In 2012, MEM was named the 6th most expensive airport in the United States with an average fare of $480.

Transfer between Terminals

Memphis International Airport has three terminals: Terminal A, Terminal B, and Terminal C. Terminal B serves all international flights to and from MEM. All three terminals are accessible on foot or via moving walkways.

Transport into Town

Taxi: Taxis can be found outside of Terminal B baggage claim area at the ground level. Shuttle Bus: Various hotels offer complimentary shuttle bus service to and from the airport. Bus: Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) bus stop located in front of Terminal C on the baggage claim level.

Airport Lounges

Memphis International Airport has only one special lounge. Terminal B, the international terminal, is home to a Delta Sky Club Lounge.

Major Airlines

Memphis International Airport is home to the FedEx Express global Super Hub. Since 2009, MEM has been a small hub for SeaPort Airlines

Airport Facilities

Free wireless internet is available throughout the airport. Various art displays can be found inside the Memphis International Airport. Travelers can also visit the Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art located in the B-C connector. Frequent concerts are held near the Blue Note Café and across from the food court in Concourse B.

Car Parking

Short-term parking can be found on the ground level of the three-story parking garage located directly across from all three terminals. Short-term parking costs $2 an hour and $21 for one day. Long-term parking can be found in the three-story parking garage located directly across from all three terminals. Long-term parking costs $2 or an hour and $11 for one day. Economy Parking can be located on five levels of a parking garage. The Economy Parking garage is connected to the airport via a covered walkway. Economy Parking costs $6 a day.
