Transfer between Terminals
Hamburg has two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Terminal 2 is mainly used by Lufthansa, Germanwings and their Star Alliance partners. Other airlines such as Air Berlin, British Airways, Emirates, Continental and Air France are based in Terminal 1. The terminals are connected by the Airport Plaza and the baggage claim area on the terminals lower level.

Transport into Town
Rail: The Plaza houses the S-Bahn station (suburban railway). The S-Bahn line S1 operates every 10 minutes between Hamburg Airport and Hamburgs central railway station. Bus: Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV) operates eight bus routes to and from the airport. Kielius Bus travels 17 times a day between Hamburg and the airport. Trave-Elbe-Express Bus travels 10 times a day between Hamburg and the airport. The Night Bus travels between Göttingen, Hannover, and Hamburg Airport. Taxi: The taxi departure locations are to be found outside the exits of Terminal 1 and 2 in the arrival areas. Shuttle Service: There are three shuttle bus services that service the airport. The shuttle bus services are Airport-Service Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel, Transfer Bremen, and On Tour Shuttle Express.
There are four special lounges inside the Hamburg Airport. The Airport Lounge is located in the Airport Plaza on Level 3 (Gallery Level), and is open from 5:15am - 9pm. Lufthansa Lounge is located in Terminal 2 on the Gallery Level. Emirates Lounge is located on the Airport Plaza on the Gallery Level, and is open from 11:45am - 2:30pm and 5:30pm - 8:10pm. airBerlin Exclusive Waiting Area is located in the Skywalk at Gate C08, and is open 24 hours.
