Geneva International Airport (GVA) is located 2.5 miles northwest of Geneva, Switzerland. The airport was founded in 1919 and was formerly known as Cointrin Airport. In 2012, Geneva International Airport handles more than 13.8 million passengers. Part of the airport sits along the French-Swiss border.
Transfer between Terminals
Geneva airport has two passenger terminals, T1 and T2. T1 is also known as Main terminal and is divided into 5 piers, A, B, C, D, and F. Pier F, also known as the French Sector, is used exclusively for passengers arriving from, or departing to French destinations. Genève Aéroport’s Terminal 2 can be reached via TPG bus (routes 10, 23 and 28).

Transport into Town
Rail: The CFF airport railway station has access to the airport and offers connections to the Swiss and European rail network. All trains stop at Geneva-Cornavin station. Bus: The Y bus provides service between Ferney-Mairie and Val Thoiry. Buses route F, route 57, route 28, route 23, route 10, and route 5 service the airport and provide transportation to the surrounding area. Shuttle: The Frossard transportation company operate a scheduled coach service between Genève Aéroport and Annecy. The Grenoble-based Semi-Public Company SEM-VFD travels to Chambery SNCF train station, Crolles Le Rafour, and Grenoble coach station.
There are eight special lounges inside the Geneva International Airport. Dnata Skyview Lounge is located inside the Main Terminal on the Mezzanine Level, and is open from 6am - 8:30pm. Geneva International Airport is a hub for easy Jet Switzerland and Darwin Airline. It is also a focus city for Swiss International Air Lines, including Swiss European Air Lines. The airline Baboo had its head office on the grounds of the airport.
