Built in 1995, Denver International Airport the largest airport in the United States by total area and has been named one of the top ten airports in the world and the third best airport in North America. Home to the largest solar farm at a commercial airport in the United States, Denver International Airport is also one of the world’s greenest airports. Jeppesen Terminal’s famous peaked roof, designed by Fentress Bradburn Architects, mirrors the snow-capped mountains nearby and evokes Colorado’s early Native American history.
Transfer between Terminals
Denver International Airport has three concourses in addition to Jeppesen Terminal, named after aviation safety pioneer Elrey Jeppesen. Concourse A handles all international arrivals at Denver, while Frontier Airlines is the largest carrier in this concourse. Concourse A is accessible via a pedestrian bridge from the terminal building. Concourse B is exclusive to Star Alliance partners, and Concourse C houses Southwest Airlines—the main carrier in this concourse—though Delta uses the concourse as well. For access to Concourses B and C, passengers must use the Denver International Airport Automated Guideway Transit System. This underground train system services all three concourses.
