Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is a joint civil-military public international airport located in Charlotte, North Carolina. As of 2009, CLT was the 9th busiest airport in the United States. In 1954 the airport was renamed Douglas Municipal Airport after former Charlotte mayor Ben Elbert Douglas, Sr. The airport was found in 1930 with a grant from United States' Works Progress Administration.

Transport into Town
Taxi: Taxi service is available curbside on the Baggage Claim Level. A typical taxi charge from the airport to Charlotte’s city center is $20. Bus: The Sprinter Enhanced Bus Service connects CLT to the downtown Charlotte Transportation Center. This bus stops in front of Zone D Baggage Claim and operates every 20 or 30 minutes from 5:50am or 6:00am until midnight or 1:00am, depending on the day of the week.
