Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport (BHM) is located 5 miles northeast of downtown Birmingham, Alabama. The airport was named in honor of Fred Shuttlesworth, a U.S. civil rights activist and minister in Birmingham, Alabama. BHM opened in 1931 and approximately 3 million passengers pass through the airport each year.
Transfer between Terminals
Birmingham International Airport has one terminal building and two concourses: Concourse A and Concourse B. Concourse A is used by Southwest, Delta, and US Airways. Concourse B is used by United, American, and US Airways. The airport is accessible by foot.
