American Airlines
American Airlines, a US based carrier is one of the largest airlines in the world in terms of passenger miles and fleet size. American airlines fly to over 250 cities in around 40 countries around the world. The airline also operates a fleet of some 655 aircraft.
American Airlines main hubs are; Dallas/Fort Worth, Chicago, Miami, St Louis and San Juan in Puerto Rico. Other key cities include New York and Los Angeles.
American Airlines operates a regional airline called American Eagle, which operates a fleet of 305 aircraft. American Eagle flies to a variety of destinations in the US, Canada, The Bahamas and the Caribbean. The regional airlines hubs are; Boston, Chicago OOHare, Dallas/Fort Worth, Miami, Los Angeles, New York JFK, New York LaGuardia and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
AAdvantage is the frequent flier program operated by American Airlines. Members of the scheme can earn miles when they travel with American Airlines, American Connection or American Eagle or when travelling with one of Americanns partner airlines. Accrued points can be used to purchase flights on American Airlines, American Connection or American Eagle flights, to obtain upgrades, purchase vacations, magazine subscriptions and more. American Airlines is also a member of the OneWorld airline alliance.
