Overview


Málaga Airport (AGP) is located 5 miles southwest of Málaga, Spain. In 2012, more than 12.5 million passengers used Málaga Airport, making it the 4th busiest airport in Spain. Málaga Airport is one of the oldest in Spain. The airport opened in 1919 and in 1946 it became an international airport. Málaga Airport is frequently used by people visiting Gibraltar.

Transfer between Terminals


Málaga Airport has three terminals. Terminal 1 is currently closed, Terminal 2 has two piers, and Terminal 3 was opened in 2010. Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are connected by Pier C.

Transport into Town


Rail: The airport has an underground station for Cercanías Málaga commuter trains. Trains run every 20 minutes between Málaga City and Fuengirola via Málaga Airport. Bus: There is a bus station located underground at the airport. Bus A Express travels to Málaga city center. Bus 19 travels to Port of Málaga.

Airport Lounges


There is one special lounge inside Málaga Airport. the Sala VIP T3 is located in Terminal 3 on the Upper Level, and is open from 6am - 11pm.

Major Airlines


Málaga Airport is a base for Helitt Líneas Aéreas, Norwegian, Ryanair, and Vueling. Ryanair is Málaga Airport’s biggest airline, carrying 21% of the airport’s passengers. EasyJet carries 15% of the airport’s passengers, Vueling has 7%, and Iberia carries 7% of Málaga Airport’s passengers.

Airport Facilities


The first 15 minutes of wireless internet connection is free at the airport. Terminal 3 is home to the largest food hall in Europe and the first National Geographic store in the world. The Museum of Air Navigation and Transport is located in Terminal 1 and contains over 1,500 artifacts of Spanish aviation history. An exhibition space exists in Terminal 3 where works of art are displayed for travelers.  

Car Parking


Málaga Airport offers various parking options for drivers. Long-stay car park P3 is connected to the terminal via a free shuttle bus. P1 and P7 car park is located close to the terminal. P2 Express Car Park is recommended for 30 minutes or less of parking.
